It may not even be a question of whether the Pac-12 believes it is smarter


than the SEC. As I said to HOO86 and OU_Sooner, it may be a case of the Pac-12 felt ESPN intentionally low balled the conference on its "best" offer. Given how public the troubles the Pac-12 is having with its network, it isn't unreasonable to think that ESPN wanted to lock down the Pac-12 for the same amount of time as the ACC for less money than what the ACC received and even possibly less than what the AAC recently received.

I don't think there are too many people are exactly thrilled with how much the ACC is receiving from ESPN under its current deal. I seriously doubt anyone would have been happy to see the ACC agree to give up its rights until 2037 for the same amount of money that the AAC is receiving under its new contract. So I don't follow why people think it would make "good business sense" for the Pac-12 to agree to "unfavorable terms."
